BOULEMA ENGINEERING SERVICES

Boulema Engineering Services is a duly Government registered Building and Civil Engineering construction company operating as a subsidiary of Boulema Limited, a multi-discipline Engineering Consulting and Contracting firm formally incorporated in October 1989 but operated as GHOVWAH Construction Company four years before this date. The Benin Office is situating at 17, Osawe Street, Off Etete Road, Benin City.

Boulema Limited, the parent company, has a fully paid share capital of 5million Naira as at 2005.  The company was duly certified a Category D Building/Civil Engineering firm both by the Federal Ministry of Works and the then Federal Ministry of Housing and urban Development in the year  2004.

BES has due registration with some state governments inclusive of Edo State; Federal Government ministries and departments. The company also executes projects as a registered Building contractor to Federal and state Government owned institutions-University of Benin, Benin City and Delta State University, Abraka to mention a few in this sub-region.

The requisite engineering experience that the company has, coupled with the vast but highly varied work exposure of its technical staff garnered in the past twenty-seven years may be readily seen in the operations of Boulema Engineering.

BRIEF HISTORY

Boulema Limited, the parent company, had been handling the design and construction supervision of Reinforced Concrete Buildings, Structural Steel-works in buildings and Composite Structures since 1989. Projects successfully completed include Private Residential Buildings and Housing Estates; Industrial buildings and Offices Complexes; Public infrastructural developments.

The volume of work being done in the Building Construction & Structural steel works increased significantly prompting the Company Directors to give these operations a separate business identity, hence the birth of Boulema Engineering Services in December 2007. This development which saw an impressive leap in the productive efficiency of the Company caused a further shift in business thinking. This is discussed in another section.  As indicated earlier the company has since its inception been handling scores of Reinforced Concrete Buildings & Structural Steel-works in Water Schemes and Industrial Plants notably in the Benin City,  Lagos metropolis, Abuja and Bayelsa.

ENGINEERING AND TECHNICAL WORK FORCE

Boulema Engineering Services has a highly experienced, well-motivated engineering staff serving as arrow heads for all our planning, monitoring and project management operations. The company boasts of an efficient and reliable work force made up of numbers of trade-tested and certified craftsmen, who team up with and work under the close monitoring and supervision of the first category of staff mentioned earlier. New entrants/employees are re-trained in-house and properly groomed before being assigned directly to any constructional activity on site. This has helped to create over time the transference of technological expertise down the chain.

In structural steel-works projects as in the construction of Elevated Steel tanks and towers, large-span warehouses and factories, there is a ready access to the use of motorized cranes in lifting and placing heavy fabricated steel in their pre-determined position. The standardized operation is made possible by the company’s acquisition of basic electric-arc welding machines; engineering and survey equipment.

A LEAD FIRM IN A CONSORTIUM OF FIVE COMPANIES OF EQUAL STANDING

Most indigenous companies are performing far below their installed capacity because of logistics and related problems. The recourse to forming a consortium of companies within the Building construction industry has proved beneficial in the Western Nations and is positively impacting the Nigeria and West African region.

Thus the consortium can easily mobilize to a Project Site within 72 hrs. in any one of the six geo-political zones of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (with a faster reaction time in the FCT, North-Central, South-West, South-East and the South-South Zones).
